Living in Orlando this past year has been a true gift. This is where we made many dear friends, enjoyed beautiful weather, frequented the beach and welcomed our precious son into the world.
And it is with heavy hearts that we will have to say goodbye (or I prefer, see you later!). Matt recently received an offer that we could not reject — one that will take us closer to family and,

We weren’t looking for a reason to leave. In fact, we became far more enamored with Florida than we ever imagined we would. Matt enjoyed his job and built strong relationships with his teammates. We made many friends through church. And let’s just be honest, the weather here is AMAZING (not to mention being a 45-minute drive from the beach).
The opportunity for Matt to take a new job nearly fell in our laps. He was contacted about it by a former co-worker. It sounded too good to be true. We prayed and prayed for weeks before deciding we needed to take it.
On April 8, Matt began his new role as a cloud engineer for SIL International. SIL plays an important part in the Bible translation movement, with a focus on language development. Not only will this job take us closer to family, but it will also allow for more flexibility with ministry work. For now, Matt is working remotely, but we will relocate to the Dallas-area at the beginning of May.
We covet your prayers and encouragement as we make yet another big transition, another move halfway across the country (with a 6-month-old) and as Matt settles into the new job.
We will miss Orlando greatly. We never expected to leave so soon, but I’m sure we’ll be back time and time again. We look forward to opportunities ahead and trust the Lord to guide us each step of the way!
